January 7, 2014:  Regular Meeting

There was a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tully on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 7:00pm in the Municipal Building.

 

 Present:

Pledge of Allegiance/Call to Order

Mayor Greenwood led the Pledge of Allegiance and called the meeting to order at 7:00pm.

Motion was made by Trustee Flaherty, 2nd by Trustee Poellot to approve the minutes for the December 3, 2013 meeting.  Ayes carried. 

Upon motion by Trustee Flaherty, 2nd by Trustee Poellot it was unanimous to accept the treasurer’s report for December, subject to audit.

Upon motion by Trustee Poellot, 2nd by Trustee Flaherty it was unanimous to approve the transfers.

Public Comment

David Knapp was present to notify the Village that the County Legislature was able to secure more monies for the Counties Village Improvement Project.  They were also able to find more money for the Library.

DPW

Street light at HS crosswalk:  When NYSDOT repaved Elm Street the high school crosswalk was moved away from the street light. 

Upon motion by Trustee Poellot, 2nd by Trustee Flaherty it was unanimous to authorize the Mayor to add another street light near the new crosswalk.  National Grid will add the new light at no cost, but charge $125.00/year.

Training Report:  No changes.

Maintenance Report:  There was a water main break repaired on Onondaga Court.

A check was finally received for damages done to the hydrant, signs and for cost of labor to repair the above at the corner of Meetinghouse Road and State Street.

The DPW is looking at pricing for a new truck, and for stone for the treatment plant reed bed.

Engineer:

On Thursday, the Mayor and the Engineer will meet with USDA in regards to the grant the Village hopes to secure.

New Business:

Upon motion by Trustee Flaherty, 2nd by Trustee Poellot, it was unanimous to appoint David Brown as a full member of the ZBA.

Anyone interested in willing to be an alternate for the ZBA should please contact the Village office.

Upon motion by Trustee Poellot, 2nd by Trustee Flaherty it was unanimous to return to meeting on the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm.

Upon motion by Trustee Flaherty, 2nd by Trustee Poellot, it was unanimous that the annual election shall be on the 18th of March 2014, that the Village constitutes one election district and that the polling place for the district shall be the Municipal building located at 5833 Meetinghouse Road, Tully NY; and the hours during which polls will be open shall be from noon to 9:00pm.

Upon motion by Trustee Poellot, 2nd by Trustee Flaherty, it was unanimous to appoint Norma Richards and Catharine Shaughnessy as election inspectors.

Public Comment

Audit Bills

Upon motion by Trustee Poellot, 2nd by Trustee Flaherty, it was unanimous to review and authorize the accountant to pay the bills, subject to audit. 

Upon motion of Trustee Flaherty, 2nd by Trustee Yonko it was unanimous to adjourn at 7:40pm.
