July 2, 2014 Regular Meeting

There was a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tully on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 7:00pm in the Municipal Building.

Pledge of Allegiance/Call to Order

Mayor Greenwood led the Pledge of Allegiance and called the meeting to order at 7:00pm.

Motion was made by Trustee Poellot, 2nd by Trustee Flaherty to approve the minutes from the June 4th and the June 18th meetings.  Ayes carried. 

Upon motion by Trustee Poellot, 2nd by Trustee Vernay it was unanimous to authorize the clerk to publish in the paper that the Annual Report has been filed with the NYS Comptroller’s office and is available for review in the Village office during normal work hours.

Upon motion by Trustee Flaherty, 2nd by Trustee Vernay it was unanimous to approve the end of the year treasurer’s report, subject to audit.

Upon motion by Trustee Vernay, 2nd by Trustee Poellot, it was unanimous to approve the June 30, 2014 treasurer’s report subject to audit.

Public Comment

Counsel:

No report

DPW

Sidewalk:  The damage to the sidewalk on Clinton Street from the storm that knocked down a tree and took down electrical wires was repaired.

Water Sample:  One contaminated water sample was reported; proper steps were followed and upon further testing no problems were reported.  It may have been a false positive.  More testing will be conducted to verify that there is not a problem.

Hydrant Replacements:  Replacement of three hydrants was completed and most residents were very understanding.  Top soil and seeding will be finished shortly.

Valve replacement at the plant, and the siding for the pump house were completed to DPW’s satisfaction.

Street work:  The first treatment is down.  The rest will be completed before the end of the summer.

Maintenance Report:  Jim Potter would like to paint the Quonset hut at the Farm.  He is renting it and is insured. It was recommended that he obtain a copy of the painters’ insurance.  He is allowed to paint property that he is renting.

Training Report:  extra work was completed in sampling

Codes:

Contact was made with the Whalen property in regards to mowing.

Complaints about the Fisher property will be investigated.

Engineer:

Ken Teter reviewed the engineering agreement.

Upon motion by Trustee Poellot, 2nd by Trustee Vernay it was unanimous to accept and authorize the Mayor to sign the Engineering Agreement with revisions with K. Teter Consulting LLC.

Audit Bills

Upon motion by Trustee Flaherty, 2nd by Trustee Vernay, it was unanimous to review and authorize the accountant to pay the bills, subject to audit. 

Upon motion of Trustee Flaherty, 2nd by Trustee Poellot it was unanimous to adjourn at 7:50pm.
